What are shipping estimates for areas not covered by the main campaign graphic?
Shipping costs are estimations only. Estimates are based on current quotes from our shipping partners plus 6%-10% in anticipation of industry-wide global shipping price increases in 2024. Shipping will be charged through our pledge manager post campaign when we are closer to fulfillment.
- Estimates are on the high end of currently available information. We hope true shipping costs will come in lower than what is shown.
For these regions in particular customers may be charged import or customs fees upon delivery. We are not able to predict if extra fees will be charged, nor how much those fees might be.

Why are tiles larger than other 18xx games?
Because of the format of the map in Railways of the Lost Atlas we made the decision to go larger with the tile sizes in order to create a stable play space and reduce the impact of bumping the map. Our larger tiles also allow us to use 15mm diameter hub tokens instead of the standard 10mm ones, which allows more room for detailed screen printed logos.

What if we build a “bad” map?
We do include recommended introductory maps in each mode for players who are new to the system, these maps are designed so each company has access to early revenue and can be run profitably. We genuinely believe all maps can be fun to play on. In fact, during playtesting we have tried to make maps as “bad” as possible and they have led to some of our most memorable games. Ultimately we stand by the idea that you should build the map you want to play. If the table takes a look at the map and decides it just isn’t going to work, change it or start over! Map building in this game is a cooperative or at least semi-cooperative activity. Players have no knowledge of which companies will be available early nor which player will act first so there is very little competitive advantage to hobbling a specific company or sabotaging part of the map. If a certain tile is difficult to place, gather input from the other players on where it should go. If you finish the map building step and realize some tiles were placed poorly, adjust them or use the blank hexes included in the game to improve problem areas.

Will the tiles fit in a standard 18xx tile tray?
Since the tiles are larger than other 18xx games a tile tray with grooves or specifically sized tile holders will likely not work with Railways of the Lost Atlas. We have no plans to produce trays ourselves but would be open to partnering with someone post-campaign if the demand exists.

Last Updated At: 12/29/23What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
